Recent happenings this winter....

While everyone else in MS got a little snow this week, we had a few days of ice...and really only ice in trees and wires...so this was Reed and her morning tea by our ice.

Campbell has been eating some foods pretty good....especially now that he has that one tooth to help him chew.

And I caught him in a moment that he was content with this hat on his head...it's the cutest hat (thanks, Aunt Nancy) and his head is so darn bald...but he's quick to pull it off, even when tied.

And we had a big Christmas, with Santa being good to all three of these littles!

We watched the Christmas parade in front of the office with Mimi.

"A preview of HK's college years", I joked...Daniel didn't find this amusing.

Campbell took to my cousin, Austin, quite well while we were down on the coast celebrating my grandfather's funeral. That sounds rather strange the way that came out, but it truly was a celebration of his 92 years and the wonderful family that he created and nurtured. From his wife of 69 years to his 9 children and 30 grandchildren- we were able to celebrate and mourn a wonderful life and death and the hope that he is finally home, after an extended stay with us.

Celebrating at the carousel

A great day to turn 3! Reed had a magical time at her celebration and just enjoyed every bit of the party....the balloons!! the party hats!! the friends!! the cake!! the carousel!! Her little heart was bursting with excitement and just made it all worth it....even in the rain.

Happy 3rd Birthday to Reed!

Celebrate we will! Today Reed has been part of our family for 3 whole years! I had fun retelling her birthing story to her first thing this morning. I call her my rooster because she is always the first up and wide awake when her eyes open. She crawls in bed and just wants to chat, chat, chat. So this morning I walked her through this same morning 3 years ago and we giggled and snuggled. I am so glad she was born.

Dance Cavalcade 2012

HK had a dance recital the night before Campbell decided to arrive. It was our first chance to see what she'd been learning all year at dance. She does not believe in impromptu performances, especially when they're not her idea. So truthfully we had no idea what to expect from her performance. Didn't even know if she'd show us that night! To our pleasant surprise, the show was magical. We were  (and still are) such proud parents. It was so fun to watch and was the perfect length of time to keep even Reed's attention.

4 + 1

We have added our newest addition and survived the summer!  Campbell joined us in May and has been so sweet and smiley. I just love that pic of Reed holding him; she is so excited and oblivious that he, on the other hand, is not. He is a wonderful baby and has two huge fans to greet him every morning.

Reed's 2nd Birthday

In January we celebrated Reed's 2nd birthday with pizza dinner and cake! Momma made a big mistake and we actually had a week full of cake. I thought that I called the Wal-Mart bakery and ordered Reed's cake to be picked up the afternoon of her birthday. Well, I did call a Wal-Mart bakery- it just happened to be in Indianola, so when Daniel went to pick it up here in Greenville, they had no idea what he was talking about. We did get the cakes from both places, hence the week long birthday cake celebration (nobody minded). So glad this little bundle of happiness joined our family 2 years ago.

Merry Christmas and Happy 2012!

Merry Christmas from the Hookers! We celebrated here in Greenville last weekend and get to head to Columbus to celebrate some more! It's been a very relaxed Christmas at home this year (remembering that last Christmas we were misplaced due to our personal flood of 2010-still Thank you, city of Greenville) Our cousin Lee stopped by last week for a vistit to the delta and a getaway from law school exams. We got a great visit with him in to start our Christmas celebration. Christmas weekend we enjoyed Christmas Eve mass and then headed to Mimi and Papaw's to eat and share gifts. Christmas day was lazy and included playing with Santa's gifts, breakfast brunch (with a great new cinnamon roll casserole thanks to pinterest) with Mimi and Papaw, and video games with Mark III all afternoon (don't know who had more fun- Daniel or Mark ?)
Excited to share that Hooker #3 is on the way and this time bringing a little blue to our house. Baby Brother will hopefully join us around the 14th of May (or sooner, if he wishes). Been a great pregnancy with a little morning sickness through the first trimester tapering off to more energy and less sickness in the 2nd. Starting to wake up in the night and not as comfortable as I wish I could be but that is to be expected. If that's all I have to worry about, life is good! Happy 2012 from this whirlwind household!
